Taroudant – HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Friday, a 987-million dirham ($ 197 million ) project to safeguard the citrus area of Sebt El-Guerdane in the southern province of Taroudant.
The large-scale socio-economic project aims to facilitate access to water resources for 600 farms (370 farmers).
It will help to preserve 11,000 employment positions and more than 10,000 seasonal jobs, and will contribute to increase citrus production from 40,000 to 255,000 tonnes.
This growth will boost the export volume by 35%. The monarch also visited an experimental farm of citrus and early fruit production. Par MAP
